Mommy and Daddy’s bed

And so the night goes, just another bedtime routine of laying with William until he drifts off to sleep. Tonight’s conversation had to do with at what age he will stay sleeping in his bed and not come into mommy and daddy’s bed. I asked if he would sleep in his bed at the age of 5. His response was no I’ll sleep in mommy and daddy’s bed. We continued with the same response with 6-16 until I asked the ultimate question: “How old are you going to be when you stop sleeping in mommy and daddy’s bed?” To which he responds, “100!” I guess we have a long time before our bed becomes our own🤣 My favorite statement of the night: We (as in mom, dad, and William) should get a king sized bed!

Garbage Man

Mondays are garbage day. Our long standing garbage man Kevin retired a couple months ago. William loved him as he always brought Hot Wheels for him. Our new garbage man is Keith who also brings Hot Wheels. Today William got excited to see Kevin but I reminded him that it would be Keith that was coming today. He asked what happened to Kevin. I explained he retired. William said, “what does retired mean?” I explained the meaning of retired. William goes on to say that he wants to drive garbage trucks. I say oh that’s a very cool job! Then William says he needs to learn to drive first. He continues by saying, “First I’m gonna learn to drive a car then I’ll be a garbage man. Then I can retire.”
